Manvendra Singh was born in 2000 in the village of Sambhar Lake, in Rajasthan, India. He is a contemporary poet who bridges the gap between reveries and reality, where life makes its balance. He grew up moving between villages, towns, and cities, carrying stories, melancholy, and fire with him.

Tranquility is a compilation of my free verse monologues, my way of speaking openly about life as I see it. In these, I share my simple reflections, the moments that shape me, and the small truths I notice along the way. These pages are not lessons, but glimpses of my journey: honest, raw, and real. I wrote these moments in my heart, then in these pages because it felt tranquil, yes!
“Art is a moment”. It’s a video, it has frames, voice, noise, and a story. It’s not captured, it’s felt up, in the head, and heart. To all the readers, I wish this could be a video.

I started writing in 2018. This book is a compilation of everything: my unfinished notes, personal writings, and stories. The title is in Urdu: Tilism means Magic, and Masknat means Misery, the powerful forces that make life humble.
Within these pages, I’ve laid bare my vulnerable emotions: happiness, joy, silence, rage, my women, and my acquaintances.
